Turkey exports products of organic agriculture worth 500 million US dollars (approx. 403 million Euros)

Organic and organic farming is one of the fastest growing economic sectors in the world. More than 120 countries around the world are now promoting organic farming based on consumer needs.

In Turkey, organic farming has also grown rapidly and has become an important export factor. If the value of organic exports currently already amounts to 500 million US dollars (approx. 403 million euros), this is expected to rise to 2.5 billion US dollars (approx. 2.03 billion euros) by 2023.

Preferred export products are dried figs, grapes and apricots, but also nuts, dried tomatoes, pickled fruits and vegetables, spices and oilseeds.

Steadily increasing export of organic products from Turkey to Germany.

Whereas in 2016, 2,400 tonnes of organic products were exported to Germany, by 2017 the figure had already risen to 3,760 tonnes. This represents an increase of 56.43%. The value of exports from Turkey to Germany is expected to rise gradually by 2023.
